I wonder why
I married you

what is the security I felt
in our friendship
or what is the fear
of a traditionally unhappy marriage

what is that I wanted to do what I wanted to do
and I knew you would let me do
what I wanted to do

or what is that I really liked you
and may be even loved you
or may be respected you

or what is the opposite?
that you liked me
and fact be known
I liked you liking me.

and may be if not today
a day will come when
I will find myself
liking you...

Today is my birthday
I turned twenty five
another year went by
a few smiles, a few tears

The lines on my face have deepen
the loss of a friend
the gain of fame
a new image, a new name

a day closer, to my death
a day away from my birth
amazing isn't it this life of the world
ever mysterious, ever unknown

moving ahead,marching ahead
yet unsure, where is my goal
I'm no one great
my name will be lost in a thousand names

I look to favour from my Lord
may I do as much
to have His kind glance on me
and leave this world victorious as him. Amin.
